Strand Fitness is very excited to announce the launching of our 21 Day – Make it or Break it – Challenge, from the 31st of January until the 20th of February, 2021.

You’ll be amazed at what you can do in 21 days!

Did you know it takes 21 days to form a habit?

It might not sound like a long time, but think about it…

  • that’s 3 weeks of fighting old habits.
  • 504 hours of trying something new.
  • 30,240 minutes of changing your life. 

Now think about how great it will be when you get there! 21 days behind you.

  • 3 weeks to form a new, better habit.
  • 504 hours on your way to improvement.
  • 30,240 minutes invested in becoming healthier!
The Challenge! 

The competition will be measured by MEP’s, Myzone-Effort-points – in other words, the more points you earn, the more chances you’ll have of winning!

Work out while wearing your MyZone belt to accumulate MyZone Effort Points (MEPs) for each minute you spend in the four* selected intensity zones.

We’ll draw the winner at the end of the challenge. You must attend an minimum of 4 Group Fitness classes at the club to be eligible to win!

The more EFFORT you put in, the more chance you have of winning..

What is Myzone? 

Myzone is a wearable heart rate-based system that uses wireless technology to monitor your physical activity.

Instead of focusing on body metrics, this monitor measures your heart rate, and shifts focus to the intensity of your workouts.

Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) are awarded throughout your workout and are intermittently increased the harder you push yourself, as seen in the image below.


*Grey MEPS are not included in Myzone challenges.

The Myzone heart rate monitor connects to a downloadable app which shows you a minute by minute breakdown of your workout, including details on your heart-rate, calories burnt and MEPS earnt.  The app also allows you to connect with your friends, send messages and see their workouts- all adding a fun, competitive edge. The highest number of MEPs earnt over the 21 days will be used to determine the winner of the challenge.
